Rummy How-To: Create a Calm End-of-Session Routine

Ending a session is a decision, not a reaction to the last hand. A calm routine makes it easier to stop at the planned time and prevents a loss or win from extending play automatically.
Start by closing the table and checking the session boundary. Record the result and any spending within your planned limit. Do not make a new deposit or start another table while emotions are still high. Give yourself a short transition away from the screen.
Write one factual learning note. Identify one decision that was clear and one that deserves review. Avoid turning the note into a verdict about your ability. The purpose is to carry a useful observation forward without carrying the pressure of the result.
Check your physical state. If you are tired, angry, or tempted to recover a loss, do not continue. A break, conversation, or ordinary activity is a better next step. If stopping feels difficult repeatedly, tighten your time and spending controls.
Finish by choosing when you may next play, if at all. A gap between sessions creates room for perspective. The routine is successful when you can leave the game with your boundaries and attention intact.
